Every year, millions of people experience disabling injuries and illnesses that profoundly disrupt their lives. At Continental Rehabilitation Hospital of San Diego, we help these individuals achieve the highest possible levels of independence and function through intensive rehabilitation therapy. Whether a patient has chronic or catastrophic care needs, is dependent on a ventilator or life support, or is recovering from joint replacement surgery, we provide a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services to address each person’s unique circumstances.
Continental is licensed as an acute care hospital with a specialty designation of acute rehabilitation. We also have a Medicare designation as a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital with an average length of stay of greater than 25 days. Both acute rehabilitation and LTAC services are designed to enhance the patient’s functional levels, and both discharge a large percentage of patients home, indicating the overlapping process of healing patients to self-sustaining levels. Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), we take pride in the quality of care that we provide, and as part of our compliance program, all of our employees undergo annual training regarding HIPAA regulations, especially regarding the privacy rule.
Located in San Diego, we aspire to improve the quality of life for each person we treat. All patients receive comprehensive evaluations that are then used to develop individual care plans. Our interdisciplinary teams include skilled physical, occupational, and speech therapists, rehabilitation nurses, physicians and other healthcare professionals. In addition to providing quality inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, we also serve local communities through educational programs.
Our mission at Continental Rehabilitation Hospital of San Diego is simple: we work hard to return patients with disabling injuries or illnesses to more healthy, fulfilling lives with as much independence as possible.
We accept a variety of health plans; contact us today for more information.
